Shop it around? Well, ok. How about start with CBS-owned Showtime? They're going gangbusters with the limited series -- like Dexter, The Tudors, Weeds, etc. Sci-Fi Channel would work. Shoot, why not back to ABC? I wonder how likely that is. There might be some practical problems. For example, are the actors still under contract if the show isn't picked up by CBS? Hey, a Jesuit priest turned shrink who wrestles with his own personal "demons" and those of his patients would have been a wonderful show . . . but something about those exorcisms just sounded like an element that would have narrowed the audience and the appeal. I'm just sayin'. I doubt we'll ever have a chance to decide for ourselves whether it was any good. And now we're back to asking, "What will Ron do next?" Sigh.

You know, I have to admit I'm kind of pissed off - I was looking forward to something of this genre.

Selfishly speaking, I hope not. Broadway is fine for those in and near NYC, but not for the rest of us.

BTW, any luck yet oh mighty one? You can pm me so we don't drag this off topic. This is what I think of this whole thing:

Ah, well, it is what it is. Crikey, I think Ron's probably handling it better than most here! Anita, no, not yet.

I guess I'll just keep saving the $$ and hope for the best. If it doesn't work, I guess I'll have $$ to pay off a big bill instead of a big blast, but my fingers are crossed.

Aww, nuts! Though I too had some doubts (and fears) about the show, I was really really hoping that it would be on in the fall. I liked the Canadian import Forever Knight (which the new show Midnight /Twilight seems to be a clone of except the vampire is a PI not a cop) so I was not totally turned off by the premise. Besides, I feel that there had to be something there or why would RE have signed to do it in the first place? I can't believe he would do it just for the money!

From Barbara Hall:
Thanks for all the generous crankiness regarding "Demons."
But you will get to see a show about bantering vampires on "Moonlight" and wife swapping in the Seventies on "Swingtown."
I don't know if the vampires actually banter. I'm probably thinking "Moonlighting."
And wife swapping certainly reaches right to the heart of the country.
I haven't seen any pilots; I actually hear that "Swingtown" is good. I've given myself a full month to be bitter. I've got lots of time left, but I might shave some of that time off and put it in my "still hating people from high school" column.
As you all probably know, I've made a deal to develop at Touchstone/ABC. I have a little time to regroup and then back to pitching.
As for "The Noah Confessions," that's my latest YA novel, just published by Random House, available everywhere fine literature and other stuff is sold. Check it out and share your thoughts. Especially if they are positive.
Hi, D.M. Good to hear from you. I'll check out your blog. What's it called?
It'll be fun to hear the feedback on the new shows as they premiere so everybody, be sure to weigh in on that. And pass along any gossip. I haven't heard any reliable reason they didn't pick us up (we lost to the vampires) so I can't really speculate. But you should feel free to. We made a great pilot and had an exciting season planned. You won't get to see it, though, unless I decide to act it out in interpretive dance.
Not much else to report. I'm just posting this to let everyone know I'm still alive and not at the bottom of a bottle of Seconal. I'm taking the angst out elsewhere. I can't tell you where. It's too embarrassing. Okay, yoga. All right, I dyed my hair. Brown. DVDs of "The Office." LCD Soundsystem turned up loud.
I have one sneakly thought left. Aparently there was a leaked copy of the pilot...

Wonder if that had any impact on their decision since they are playing it close to the vest about the fall shows. Couldn't they just re-edit the pilot and try and sell it as a 'two-hour' movie to the network? A one-shot deal as it were. At least we would be able to see it , Ms. Hall would have her work seen and the network could recoup some of their money through advertising.

Harold Perrineau, who would have been in Demons, is returning to the cast of Lost. And now I hear that Cherry Jones will be portraying the President of the US on 24 Season 7. Is EVERYONE working except..... Apparently, yes.
