Maybe I was just excited to see a new Fall show so soon, but I really enjoyed Prison Break last night. It's not all that realistic, but the characters are fun (or really really creepy) and I enjoy seeing each clever new phase of Michael's intricate plan as it unfolds. Wentworth Miller being so easy on the eye is another cause to tune in, in my opinion. Oh, and I hear Frank Grillo becomes a regular cast member in the third episode. Now, I think that means he's in the episode next week because they showed two last night. I'll look into it. He looks like he could be a pretty interesting character, and not at all like Marty. He will be the love interest of Veronica, who is busy trying to find out who (if anyone) set up her ex-boyfriend, who is due to be executed.

I'm with you, Shmeep. Although I wasn't sure I knew what was going on at all times (!), I certainly enjoyed the ride. Great atmosphere, interesting cast -- catch Peter Stomare, the creepy big guy from Fargo? -- and yes, the lead is very easy on the eyes.
It's different and it's well done. I'm in.

Did you notice that the mother of the boy who was caught with the pot was the woman in Nip/Tuck who had Christian's baby (well, not his baby, but you know who I mean).
Then another character was named Leticia, and I started having a crisis as to what show I was watching! ;D
But overall, I thought it was pretty good.

Last night's Leticia character had a last name very close, really too close, to Barreras too! Coincidence or perhaps because our BJ executive producer is involved, perhaps not?
I missed most of the first half but I can't wait to see next week - did they do it to him with the garden shears? Some of it seemed a little jumpy -- too much back and forth and in and out -- but I enjoyed it.
It's definitely an entertaining show with a unique concept - and on a network that will support it! But it's still not the thinking person's show that Blind Justice was and I miss that.

Unfortunately I didn't realize that the pilot was two hours, so I only got to TiVo about 3/4 of it, and haven't been able to watch. But I am excited to see it. And shmeep, I believe that Frank's first episode is September 12, if I'm not mistaken. So I guess that would technically be the fourth episode. Wanna come over and watch?? ;D

I saw a promo last night that they are going to repeat the 2-hr pilot on Thursday night. If you missed it, you get a second chance.
That's more than they did for BJ....

I am also really enjoying Prison Break. It's one of those shows with a strong continuing narrative so I think I'll have to watch it every week! (Darn ) I do think they could get away from the gritty violence of prison, but other than that it's pretty good. My suspicion is that the nurse is a potential love interest for our hero once he gets released. She may even help him with some aspects of his plan (but nothing overt that would get her fired). To me, this is another example that shows a show can be popular even with an unrealistic premise if people just get over that and give it a chance (getting yourself incarcerated to spring your brother). If only people hadn't been so quick to judge Blind Justice! Here in Canada, TV guide ranked it one of the top 5 shows of the new season in their fall preview issue.

And don't forget...Frank Grillo this Monday night! I hope his character is more like Hot!Marty and less like Stripey!Marty. And I don't even want to know what Mags will do if he has a mean streak....

What time is this show on? I don't know if it's the same everywhere, but here on the East Coast, they are showing last week's episode at 8 and then the new one is on at 9. And yes, Doobrah, I too hope that Mr. Grillo's hair is even. You crack me up!

Uh, just coming in on a commercial break to say that Mr. Grillo is definitely looking better on this show. They must have uglied him up to make RE look even better - like the plain next-door neighbors that sitcom leading actresses always have.

I was thinking the same thing, but RE would STILL win out from my point of view.

Frank Grillo's character name is Nick Sarvinn. He works for Project Justice and seems to be as interested in Veronica as much as assisting wrongly convicted criminals. His hair has gone wild, a good example of "bedhead". Matt Olmstead as exec producer gives Prison Break good production values. It will be interesting to see Nicholas Wooten put his fingerprint on Law&Order as exec producer as well. It's really sad to see the talented crew of BJ going in seperate diredtions.

Wow. I agree that Frank Grillo looked really good--and no mean streak Mags! (At least not yet.) I wouldn't describe his hair as being "Bed Head." To me, it seemed more like "Love Interest Hair." That kind of sexy disheveled look. It worked for him. I guess on Blind Justice, they didn't play up his sex appeal because a) who would notice when Ron Eldard is nearby? and b) it wasn't key to his character's development. We were supposed to dislike him a bit so they gave him some hygiene and fashion issues ("I stink sometimes" ;D). In Prison Break, he is handsome and poised and not a trace of dandruff or armpit ring to be found.
Did anyone notice that he has a few Eldard mannerisms? I noticed him face shrugging quite a bit in Blind Justice, but even in this, I notice a kind of intensity to his expression and a way of delivering his lines that occasionally made me think of that blond dude. It could just be that they are both very talented acters...or maybe a little RE has rubbed off?
Next week's previews look really intense! Good show.
