Last night's episode was, as we have come to expect, amazing, and finally Rena Sofer showed up, as the paraplegic wife of politician Adrian Pasdar. It's a small role but she is definitely making the most of it, and she looks gorgeous with really good lighting, vibrant make-up, and a very chic new shoulder-length haircut. But I did snigger a little at the notion of politician Petrelli's advisors thinking her presence in the campaign would somehow make him look "soft." Right. A gorgeous articulate wife who sticks by the husband who disabled her . . . in what parallel universe (paging Hiro!) would that make him look anything but stalwart and attractive?

It's a small role but she is definitely making the most of it, and she looks gorgeous with really good lighting, vibrant make-up, and a very chic new shoulder-length haircut. I loved her haircut. Christie would have looked much better in your "Dressing the Dunbars" thread with that mop neatened up a bit. Not that I should be talking about mops... Did anyone get the impression that she knew her husband was lying when he said he had told the truth about not having had relations with that Blond "doctor"? She practically came straight out and asked him to lie, but then her face seemed to indicate that she knew that was the only reason he said what he did. And what is going on with Nathan and that painting? It seemed he was able to get it, but then he told Peter he couldn't. And Peter didn't need to own it, he just needed to see it and interpret it. Couldn't that have been arranged? Couldn't he have taken a photo of it for further study? And I guess Evil Pixie girl (good call, Hoosier) did something with Isaac. I hope he turns up again. The others kind of need him. Now here's a little time-travel paradox: If Hiro has a comic book from the future that shows everything he does but then Isaac disappears before he can create that comic book, why wouldn't the book disappear as if it had never been? Or did Hiro create a "rift" that will conveniently explain it all? And what makes Niki's alter ego a power and not just a multiple personality disorder? LOVE the show!

Have him create the comic in order to change the past/present/future by getting the Heroes to do something they want that isn't necessarily good news for the world but fulfills their own secret agenda?

Have him create the comic in order to change the past/present/future by getting the Heroes to do something they want that isn't necessarily good news for the world but fulfills their own secret agenda? You come up with the most interesting theories, hoosier! About the comic book...it was created in the alternate time line when Hiro jumped ahead five weeks and therefore didn't interfere with any of the events as they unfolded naturally. Now that Hiro has gone back to his own time and is now consciously trying to stop the bomb from going off, he has already influenced everything. In the old time line, Isaac never left his apartment and was murdered by Sylar but in this time line, he's gone long before that happens. This is because because Hiro came back to Peter and then Peter told Mohinder and Mohinder told Pixie girl who then told Horn Rimmed Glasses and now Isaac is gone so that event is already dramatically different than it had been before so I would assume the comic book from the future would either change or disappear altogether as events change. But it's weird that Isaac in the future was predicting future events for Hiro that actually happen in the past. This is hurting my brain. And this election...Nathan wins in a landslide in other time line, but now that Hiro has set a chain of events into motion, it's hard to say if that victory is still part of this time line. My brain hurts even more. Can't wait for next week!

Thats right! I forgot that Isaac had been killed and his brain stolen! Need a score card to keep up not only with the characters but the alternate events!
One scene I especially liked was Peter's dream sequence with his ex-patient. When Simone showed up and told him what her father said I could almost hear the old music from the Twilight Zone playing in the background!
And Nathan--yep, this time around he will probably lose big time. This show is addictive!

And what makes Niki's alter ego a power and not just a multiple personality disorder? I think Niki is a bad guy and DL is a good guy.

But...if she's still occupying the same body, it can be argued that she just has two personalities. One good, and one bad. And Niki is good but the bad one calls herself Jessica. Sounds just like a multiple personality disorder to me and not a super power. They'll have to flesh that one out a bit more before I'll understand why this makes her a hero and not crazy.

I just caught last night's episode at nbc.com and...I'm confused. Horn Rimmed Glasses doesn't seem at all evil to me now--nor does Pixie Girl. They seem like they--care. And poor HRG just wants to save his daughter. I thought the bit of background about how he came to adopt his daughter was very interesting. He really needs to let Claire know he knows about her ability. Still...forcing Isaac to go back on herion so he can paint the future? Not cool. But I guess if saving the cheerleader means saving the world, I guess we can let it slide. This time. And what is Pixie Girl's ability? Is she just really persuasive? That would explain a lot.
I loved that girl with the incredible memory and, judging by that photograph of her with Hiro, I'm assuming he successfully traveled back to the past but...does he save her in the present? I think he had to have gone further back into the past than he had planned and developed an entire relationship with her. At least that's what I decided happened when I saw that picture. So interesting!
Hey! No Peter or Dysfunctional Super Family. I missed them, but the stories covered were interesting enough. Mohinder and his dreams that depict real events was a great twist. I can't wait to find out more about that.

I agree that I too might to reevaluate my opinion of creepy dad! Why all the pretense with the fake 'bio-parents'? And just who are they and how are they involved with creepy dad? Why not just tell Claire that her biological parents were killed in some accident? I 'm sure he could have whipped up some fake death certificates and grave sites to satisfy her curiosity. I hope Hiro is able to save the waitress. What a way to go Was Sylar the guy in the diner with the telekinetic powers--or just another one of his henchmen? Thank goodness, Hiro is beginning to learn some discretion concerning his abilities and why he is in the U.S. And what about Ted? Has he fallen victim to Sylar? What is with the little marks on his and the cop's neck? Do they all have them??? Was Claire the result of some experiment and the reason why her parents were killed??? Egads, the questions are endless!!!

I 'm sure he could have whipped up some fake death certificates and grave sites to satisfy her curiosity. Great questions! It would have been easier for Creepy Dad to have just told Claire her parents had been killed. I hope Hiro is able to save the waitress. What a way to go Was Sylar the guy in the diner with the telekinetic powers--or just another one of his henchmen? I didn't think Sylar had any henchmen, but I'm pretty sure that was him in the diner. The interesting thing to me was if Hiro went back several months and got to know the waitress and was at her birthday party, was he the one to originally give her the Japanese book? And if he went back to change the past, why was his friend still waiting in the restaurant in the present. Couldn't the past have changed that too? Very odd. I think Hiro's discretion is what saved him. Sylar is going after all the people with abilities and if Hiro were to expose himself, Sylar would get him (if he could--might be tricky, with Hiro stopping time and all...). I think Ted just escaped and he is quite possibly what causes NYC to blow up in the future. Just a theory. I think the marks just mean those people have been taken into the lab by Creepy Dad and co and have been looked into and cataloged. I don't think anyone gave them these powers. They seem to be the next step in human evolution, which means that Claire's parents were both "special" and were killed because they misunderstood Creepy Dad's motives when he tried to capture them. I guess it happens, huh? So of course Claire is special too, just as the Petrelli brothers are both "special." And I suspect Mohinder's deceased sister was also "special" and now he gets those very useful dreams... I could be wrong about all of this, but it is fun to be left with so much to try and figure out between episodes.

True, and I'm a little disappointed that we didn't get much Hiro last night. But I, too, am loving this show. Does anyone have any thoughts on the significance of the painting the politicians' brother is after? Could it be something as simple as "rapaint the painting, change the apocalyptic outcome?" Naaah, that would be too easy.

Does anyone have any thoughts on the significance of the painting the politicians' brother is after? Could it be something as simple as "rapaint the painting, change the apocalyptic outcome?" Naaah, that would be too easy. Isn't that the picture that Simone brought Nathan last night? I assumed he did what he did to keep Peter from trying to save the cheerleader because, according to the picture, he dies. He must care for his brother after all. Luckily, Simone had a digital print of the painting to show Peter. Good thing Peter can absorb other powers. When he stood next to Claire I thought...okay now he should be invunerable. Good thing too, falling off whatever that was. It was funny how he was trying to get all his body parts back in the correct position. Jackie could have used that power Wonder if Sylar (or whoever) stopped cutting off the top of her head because he realized she had no power of any kind? Pixie Girl, to use Shmeep's handle, nailing Sylar with her power, which must be one of persuasion! Have they tried that before? Had the opportunity never presented itself to get that close to him? Funny how creepy dad had time to contact her when he was so worried about Claire and was rushing off to the school. The future is changing--Peter didn't die at the homecoming game and he did save the cheerleader--at least for now. New TV Guide today and disclaimer--next week's episode goes back six months and shows how they all gained their powers. Hopefully they will fill us in on Hiro since he is in the picture of the girl's birthday party which took place six months before.

Things are getting so full of twists and turns it is hard to even think it all through. Jessica is really one of the bad guys, why does she want to kill DL so bad? Does Micah have powers to? Why would Jessica show herself to Micah? It seemed to me when they were out buying that nasty gun, Jessica had taken over the main position and the good guy side of her was only appearing in the mirror.
What is Mohinder's plan with the list? Is he really going to try to find them all and tell them what is going on?
I think Nathan destroyed the picture to keep Peter from finding out where to go. His brother has been in the news already for his "suicide attempt" our up and coming politico can't take the chance that his heroic escapades could land him back on the front page. He has his career to think about.
Did creepy dad know that Peter would be arrested? Is that what creepy dad wanted?

I finally watched it last night. Wow! That one sure made me tense. It's lucky Claire showed up when she did so Peter could absorb her very useful ability, huh? Things are getting so full of twists and turns it is hard to even think it all through. Jessica is really one of the bad guys, why does she want to kill DL so bad? Does Micah have powers to? Why would Jessica show herself to Micah? It seemed to me when they were out buying that nasty gun, Jessica had taken over the main position and the good guy side of her was only appearing in the mirror. I still don't fully grasp the Niki/Jessica story, but my guess is that Jessica wants to kill DL to get her son back (she doesn't seem to need much reason to kill) and Micah has shown that he has a power. Remember when he ran his hand over the out-of-order pay phone and it worked without needing any money? The kid can obviously do something, but it's a little unclear just what all his gift entails at this point. Jessica seems to have no qualms about showing herself to other people and she probably considers herself just as much, if not more, Micah's mother than Niki is so why wouldn't she show herself to him? She seems to be the personality who has all the control and who is more aware of what is going on so she probably switches over to Niki whenever it suits her purposes to be sweet again. I still say the woman has multiple personalities and not an ability! I think Nathan destroyed the picture to keep Peter from finding out where to go. His brother has been in the news already for his "suicide attempt" our up and coming politico can't take the chance that his heroic escapades could land him back on the front page. He has his career to think about. I'm sure you're right about this. Nathan thinks if Peter doesn't see the painting, it won't come true. Well, it came true, but the picture didn't show everything. It didn't show Peter regenerating. Here's something I've been thinking about. Which cheerleader? We can all make the assumption that once Claire is saved, that's it. Done. But...there wasn't any name given and a different cheerleader died. Could it be that Claire was never the specific cheerleader Peter was meant to save? Could he have meant Jackie after all? I know Jackie's nothing special, but could her death be setting a chain of events into action that somehow result in ending the world? I doubt it, but it would be interesting, wouldn't it? Did creepy dad know that Peter would be arrested? Is that what creepy dad wanted? I think all he wanted was to get his daughter out of the thick of it. I'm sure Creepy Dad would want to take Peter himself and study him in his lab--with the help of the Haitian. Perhaps Peter can now paint the future, since they have Isaac there. In the meantime, him being in jail isn't going to help his brother's political career any.
