Here's something I've been thinking about. Which cheerleader? We can all make the assumption that once Claire is saved, that's it. Done. But...there wasn't any name given and a different cheerleader died. Could it be that Claire was never the specific cheerleader Peter was meant to save? Could he have meant Jackie after all? I know Jackie's nothing special, but could her death be setting a chain of events into action that somehow result in ending the world? I doubt it, but it would be interesting, wouldn't it? I love this idea, it wouldn't surprise me at all if the took it that way, but I was thinking about it. The picture Issak painted was of the cheerleader dead in the bleachers. That did not come to pass, the cheerleader that was killed was killed in the locker room.

Hey, Shmeep -- look what I found! HEROES' NEW HIRO: George Takei, Star Trek's Capt. Sulu, will play Hiro Nakamura's father on Heroes. Look for him to beam aboard in January. This is exciting news for me. I met George Takei once as he was making a cameo appearance in an HBO special that was being filmed in my friend's comic book shop. Very nice man. That was an exciting day. I couldn't wait to get home to watch last night's show so I just caught it online. I had read that it was a flashback episode going back six months and I wasn't all that excited about that because, while I like to get some backstory, the present story isn't generally furthered much in flashback episodes. Well, this was an exception. Most of the stories filled in some gaps, but Hiro's story continued to move forward because for him, the past was actually the present so his part of the story was being furthered in the past. Confusing, but great. And I have to wonder about that "rift" he spoke of before and how he now believes he can't change the past. Does he cause a "rift" when he goes to a place where he already exists? There are so many places to go with that story. I love how Sylar is finally being explained. Just a sad and damaged man who desperately wants a power but can't see that what he can do (see what is broken) is his power--oh, and that other thing about being able to steal powers from people he kills. So this explains where he comes from and why he is so powerful--and also why he keeps killing people. How many powers does he have by now? I don't understand the Niki/Jessica thing. Jessica told her father she had been the one to take all the abuse to protect Niki but...it still just sounds like she has multiple personalities to me. And was the sister a real person or not? And is this other personality really her sister in her or is that just what it thinks? Very odd. I had hoped to come out of this one feeling more enlightened, but instead I just have more questions. I don't mind, though. And interesting, how Petrelli's wife came to be so injured! If only he had been wearing a seatbelt, he wouldn't have flown out of the driver's seat, leaving her to crash. I think he was just getting back at her for how she tried to make him dance at Peter's party. Will the woman ever learn? Next week will be a cliffhanger before a winter hiatus so...enjoy. I hear it's supposed to be really good.

Does he cause a "rift" when he goes to a place where he already exists? There are so many places to go with that story. I am also wondering if he really was unable to save the waitress. Maybe he did and doesn't know it yet. First, off topic a bit - isn't the guy who plays Sylar the same guy who played the bookie/bellman in In Your Face? Anyway, I agree, I like how they are explaining this. I also like that he is just a freaky little nerd. I think you are right, I think she is just a gal with multiple personalities. I think Micah and DL have all the powers. I never even considered the fact that the sister might not be real, interesting take! I found it interesting that Mr. and Mrs. Petrelli seemed to have a loving relationship. So did Peter and Nathan. Once everything started going sideways for Nathan, he seems to have become estranged from Peter and Rena. Didn't it seem like Nathan had no idea what was going on when he flew out of the car? He didn't seem to do it on purpose. But if he did, talk about passive agressive! Next week will be a cliffhanger before a winter hiatus so...enjoy. I hear it's supposed to be really good. I think "winter hiatus" is the worst thing ever to hit prime time television! I just hope it is a good cliffhanger.

And what about Linderman who had the picture of Isaac's that Peter needed last episode? We learned that Peter and Nathan's father was his lawyer and that he was about to be indited before the "unfortunate" accident that injured Nathan's wife. Why is he interested in Isaac's work? I can't believe its purely for art's sake.
Obviously Hiro can influence the past because thats what he already did by coming to Peter in the subway with the 'save the cheerleader' business. If the cop thinks controlling his power is difficult, he should try bopping around like Hiro does!
I thought the guy playing Sylar looked familiar! How did he come up with that name? I know he was looking at something. Was it the name on the watch or what???

I can't believe I have to wait until January 22 to find out what happens next! Stupid winter hiatus.
Anyway, loved last night's episode. It seemed, as usual, to raise as many questions as it answered. I love that Claire and Peter finally got to talk, but I'm annoyed that her father kept tapping the glass and hurrying her up. And what is the Haitian up to? What is his plan and why does he want Claire to remember while pretending to forget? Is he good or bad? Is Claire's dad good or bad? Does Peter really cause the explosion? Is it because he's near that radioactive man? Or was he having a vision about someone else? And what's with the new possible meaning of "Save the cheerleader. Save the world."? Hiro claims it is a conditional if/then statement but Ando thinks it may be first one and then the other without involving any cause and effect. I loved their discussion of it, though. Will we all be done in by grammar? I love those Japanese boys. They're too much fun.
And just for fun, here's the TWoP recaplet of last night's episode:
Bennet's keeping Sylar in a TK-resistant room in the bowels of the Make-Believe Paper Company. We get confirmation that Sylar is, indeed, collecting abilities from all the Heroes he's killing. Bennet makes an interesting observation in regard to this, saying that he thinks Sylar's actually gone completely insane due to his brain being infiltrated by far too many superpowers. The power, it seems, has gone to his head.
Jessica actually shoots DL, but she's a shitty shot, so she has to go after him on foot while Niki stares plaintively at her from reflective surfaces. Niki thankfully resurfaces to take control back over her life (and body) when she realizes that Jessica would do anything to retain her power, even if it means hurting Micah. Matt and Clea interview Peter, and when Matt turns on his mind-reading power, Peter hilariously starts to pick up the power himself and then he and Matt spend a confusing couple of minutes reading each others minds. Heh.
Hiro, Ando, and Isaac meet up in Odessa and Hiro tells Isaac everything he saw in the future. In turn, Isaac tells them about the painting he did of the exploding man. Isaac finally gains the ability to paint his visions without the use of drugs and what he ends up painting is Hiro fighting a dragon with a sword. The Mindblower pays a visit to Lyle and Zach, and it seems he's going to erase Claire's memory too, but he has different plans for her. He tells her he works for her father and that she needs to remember her powers and keep this a secret from her dad.
Eden realizes that Bennet has been told to keep Sylar alive, and she thinks this is a bloody stupid idea (as do I) and that she can tell him to kill himself with her power of persuasion. She rather unwisely decides to take matters into her own hands and goes to see Sylar. He's more powerful than she thought, though, and he attacks her. But before he can steal her power, she blows her own brains out. Aw, Eden.
Nathan comes to retrieve Peter from jail, but he passes out on the front steps. He wakes up in a dream world New York and, as he walks through the city, he meets up with all of the Heroes, only they all look terrified of him and run away. Peter looks down at his hands and it would seem that he's glowing with fire or radiation or something and he explodes…only to wake up in his brother's arms and declare that he's going to go off like a bomb. And then it would appear that he dies. Maybe.

I am still confused about Nikki/Jessica. It seems that they are two separate people but somehow Jessica can inhabit Nikki at will. I am going on the assumption they are two people since their father also talked about Jessica when he visited Nikki and DL. How she was killed is a mystery. Or does Nikki take on the personality of Jessica whenever she is confronted by a situation she can't handle since Jessica was the "stronger" sister? A split personality but then why all the charade about a grave etc.?? Micah seems to be the only one able to easily tell the two apart. All I can say is I hope Peter stays far, far away from Ted the radioactive man. He definitely seems to be having a hard time assimilating the different powers. Do they fade over time or does he keep them forever??? Sylar seems to keep the powers he absorbs, however he does that. I wondered if he eats the brains he has stolen and that was why Eden killed herself by shooting herself in the head? If so, ewwww And who is the mysterious people creepy dad works for? Are they purely wanting to do this out of the goodness of their hearts? Help these people learn to use and control their powers or do they want to use them for their own purposes? Maybe that is why the Haitian doesn't want to block Claire's memory. Was Mohinder's father working for these same people or was he at cross-purposes and that was why he was killed??? I loved how Hiro said that he had to find that sword. It was just so matter of fact! And Ando is the perfect foil for him. He is the sidekick every hero has to have , the voice of reason in an often insane world. Why did they ever decide to have a "winter hiatus" To make us want more, thats why!

It seems that Peter only takes on the powers of those he is with while he is near them. I say that because he was sick in his jail cell, if he had Claire's powers wouldn't they keep him from getting sick?
It is really creepy that Sylar will now have Eden's powers. Imagine what he will be able to do with them.
I am with you Hoosier, I am baffled by the whole Nikki/Jessica thing. Also, does Micah have powers?
What was the deal with the mind reading cop's bloody nose? What on earth does that Haitian have going on that he can block people from using their powers. If he is a good guy and he can do that, he should just take Sylar out.
It is so true, this episode raised as many (more?) questions than it answered, and like everyone else I say - curse the winter hiatus!

I say that because he was sick in his jail cell, if he had Claire's powers wouldn't they keep him from getting sick? I wondered why he was sick while she was there. Does she ever get sick? Maybe there's some sort of clue there that we aren't psychic enough to comprehend... It is really creepy that Sylar will now have Eden's powers. Imagine what he will be able to do with them. He won't have them. She killed herself before he could get to her powers because she knew how he'd use them. I'm pretty sure that means that, while he was allowed to escape (I'm assuming), he didn't grow any stronger in the process. Also, does Micah have powers? I thought it was established that Micah can do something with electronics. Remember the way he immediately took apart the computer? I'm sure he was going to do something with that that a normal person couldn't do. And making a call from an out of order pay phone that worked after he ran a hand across it? Power! What was the deal with the mind reading cop's bloody nose? What on earth does that Haitian have going on that he can block people from using their powers. If he is a good guy and he can do that, he should just take Sylar out. I think the bloody nose was just to show how much effort went into his attempt at mind reading. Doesn't your nose bleed whenever you try real hard? Or maybe he blew a fuse...And the Haitian is very intriguing. It's impossible to know how he fits into all of this and who is good or bad.

There were so many things to watch last week that I completely forgot to comment on this show. I'm so glad it's back! I find the continuing story intriguing. What's up with that invisible man? What does he have to do with what happens in Peter's vision? And I'm still not clear on Niki and her ability, but I'm glad she's behind bars--for now. I think she's sort of like the Incredible Hulk, but pretty. That's all I can figure. Either that or she has multiple personality disorder. Pretty clever of "Jessica" to start working the crazy angle. Looks like next week her son is going to reveal what his power is. Should be interesting--especially since the son can control things with electricity and he's standing by an ATM...I hope he doesn't start a life of crime at his age.
Of course Hiro stole the show again, trying to get a hold of that sword and ending up at Isaac's apartment. His reaction to seeing Nathan was great. "Flying Man! Flying Man!" Getting to see them coming together is fun--and so is trying to figure out what's going out with Claire's creepy dad. It looks like Claire is about to find out some more truth about her birth parents pretty soon. I'm glad the Haitian didn't wipe her memory when he was supposed to. He may be working with Horn Rimmed Glasses, but he must know the "Heroes" have a purpose and he's one of them. New episode tonight! Yeah!

This week's episode was kind of interesting. I like the new hero who is invisible, it should be fun to watch him train the "empath."
I was just waiting for Nicki to pop out and kill that psychiatrist while they were talking. Jessica said the drugs make Nicki weak, I wonder if that makes it easier for Jessica to control her and keep her under wraps.
Now we know that little Micah has some interesting powers. I wonder how his dad will react to all that money. Will he keep it and use it? Or will he admonish his son for stealing? Hmmm, parental quandary.
The ending with the cheerleader's birth mom lighting her cigarette with her fingers was pretty cool (it reminded me of the fire nation on Avatar: The Last Airbender). That should make for a good storyline.
Hiro and Ando kidnapped by Hiro's father! That was hilarious! I figured that since George Takai was listed as a guest star and that he would be playing Hiro's dad, that was who kidnapped them, but I still chuckled when he opened the car door.
