I knew the day you met me I could love you if you let me So I touched your cheek and said how Easy you'd forget me You said Butterflies are freeeeeeee And so are we Oh yeah. It's in my collection. Very low budget but well done. And how great is Eileen Echardt in that? What an annoying but understandable mother! She won an oscar for that role. To Goldie Hawn's character: "Might I have seen you any anything? Besides your underwear." "I was in The Makado. I was Yum Yum." "Of course you were." Great stuff! I knew the moment we met, that most of us would have seen that movie. Speaking of whatever became of, where is Edward Albert these days? Remember him in Beauty and the Beast? Which, totally off topic, connects him to Ron Perelman, which connects Ron Perelman to none other than Ron Eldard (via The Last Supper).

Have you seen Inside Moves? It is a really early movie by the guy who did Lethal Weapon. It stars John Savage (whatever became of him?) and David Morse. Savage plays a guy who survived a suicide attempt. He ends up frequenting a bar and making friends with several handicapped people. One of them is played by Harold Russell. It was great to see him again. Also, what about Butteflies are Free? Has anyone seen that? I haven't seen Inside Moves. I may get it some time off ebay if I can find a resonably priced copy. My local blockbuster doesn't have it. I may try to get it on Interlibrary loan when school starts, too.

I've thought of a number 5
Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas
A wonderful sweet, sappy story with Muppets.

I've thought of a number 5 Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas A wonderful sweet, sappy story with Muppets. You know, I didn't see it, but this post makes me like you. Is it THE Muppets? I haven't seen a muppet movie in years, but they did have great lines. "Blowtorch! Who said anything about a blowtorch!" "I gotta paper towel." Sorry. Regressing. Happy happy days...

Thanks! How did I miss the great response -- sorry it's taken me a few days to respond. (Blame it on the heat.) Heh. I just figured you were waffling between, "Wow, does that list suck." and "Sorry I asked." If you like that one, continue. If you hate it, you might wanna reconsider. (But wow. Bale's great and I soooo love gun-kata. Btw, keep your eye open for the leader of the rebels, he's my fave actor: William Fichtner.) Kyt

I've been interested in Christian Bale since "Empire of the Sun," which is probably my favorite Spielberg film, and the best performance by a child actor I can think of. I was blown away by Christian Bale in that movie as well. AMAZING performance, covering every extreme. I watched that movie on a date with one of my first boyfriends when I was sixteen and I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I always thought it was a shame that Empire of the Sun came out the same year as The Last Emperor (which I never did see) and was nominated for all the same oscars, losing to the other movie in every case. The same thing happened to Rob Roy, which came out the same year as Braveheart. Now, I watched Rob Roy first, and then didn't care much for Braveheart in comparison. I disliked Braveheart even more when it beat Rob Roy in every category. I guess I don't pick the winners very well. Regarding good child actor performances, the only one that stands out to me as being possibly as good as that of Christian Bale was the performance of Tina Majorino in Corrina Corrina. I just watched that last night, and it was even better than I remembered. What a sweet movie. The adults did a good job, but the little girl was so transparent in every emotion that she could have carried the entire movie herself. I am impressed with her all over again. I highly recommend that movie. It's about a man in the late fifties/early sixties who loses his wife and hires a black woman to keep house and take care of his devastated daughter, who hasn't spoken since she lost her mother. Such beautiful character development. I must add this to my list of favorites.

Anything 007. I "watch" them whenever they are on. One reason, I don't have to really see them to know what is going on, since I watched them before my sight went south. That's my list Later, Carl

Have to add another movie to the list. Just rewatched "The End of the the Affair" last night. Great story, great music, amazing acting -- Ralph Fiennes, Julianne Moore, Stephen Rea.
Takes place during WWII in London and based on Graham Greene's novel which was based on his life.
Highly recommended!
