Wow, neat thread. Again, they change, but of ALL time:
Memphis Belle The Neverending Story (fave as a kid!) Phar Lap The House of Mirth At First Sight
2 of these movies have my favorite actor, Eric Stoltz, in them. Go Eric!

Hey, thanks for the picture of Eric! (drool). I like him best with his flaming red hair though. Yes I have seen the Waterdance, years ago. It was pretty good. I have seen every film of his I think, even the awful ones and the ones where he has about 2 minutes of screentime! I'm a very devoted fan I think I need an Eric forum, this is mostly a Ron Eldard drool one I know I think he looks the sexiest in Anaconda, even though that was a film with about 10 minutes of him. Most of the time he is unconscious!

My only beef with it when I saw it was that his girlfriend, played by Helen Hunt, was married to another guy. I know it made the story better and the characters more human, but I have a hard time rooting for a couple when it just feels wrong to me. Oh well. Wonderful movie. It wasn't all that early in Helen Hunts career. She was a child actress. (Remember her in The Bionic Woman?) And Inuvic, if you set up an Eric Stoltz thread in the Fanatics forum, I'll happily participate. I'm a huge fan and I LOVE the red hair. He was especially sexy to me in Rob Roy with his long red hair and kilt. Didn't much like the part when he tasted the cow shit, but other than that, he did it for me.

That is why I had problems with both The Bridges of Madison County and The Horse Whisperer. It was great that Clint and Meryl had this fiery weekend romance, but stay married and faithful for 20 years - then I'll be impressed. I do not find infidelity all that appealing.

Okay, top five: 1. The Exorcist (I'm not weird, don't worry) 2. When Trumpets Fade (okay, HBO flic - hey! 15 years of following Ron he's bound to be on my list!) 3. The Seventh Sign 4. Read Window (the James Stewart one) 5. The Birds (okay, okay ... so I dig the kids signing that annoying song and freaking out the birds!)

I also liked Heathers, if you try not to notice Slater channeling Jack Nicholson.

Oh, goodness, yes! I love Heathers. Though I'm terrified of Jack Nicholson--perhaps the reason I can't watch the movie over and over. Eek, shudder.

Pump up the Volume! No way! My brother was an extra in that movie so I always loved to watch it to make fun of him because he's pretty visible in one particular scene. Remember when they're all sitting in that PTA meeting? Well, Big Bro was the blond guy sitting right behind Christian Slater when that girl who nuked her girly pearls burst in through the back door. Right when she comes in, my bro turns around to look at her, looks forward, then does a little double take and looks at her again. There! He's famous! He wasn't an actor or anything...just had no life at that time and thought it would be fun. We teased him about it for years, but he did get to eat lunch with Christian Slater a couple of times and said he was a really nice guy. And Heathers??? One of the best (and most wrong) movies ever! Go Mouse!

Wow! He got to be an extra in a great movie. When I was in high school, they filmed Election there--sadly. Yep, I got to be an extra, I even got to shadow one of the professionals--a total waste because she didn't want an intern and I was left to cut bagels with a plastic butter knife... But I digress. Anyway, they kept telling us about how funny this movie was supposed to be and all these scenes that would be in it, but by the time they were done and had given it an R rating--egads! What a mess! I don't know a single person from my school who enjoyed the final movie after going through everything with them. Most of the people from my school had to go see it illegally, with the R rating I will say, it was really freaky (in an interesting way) to watch Matthew Broderick (in the final cut of the movie) walk down a hallway and suddenly--time warp--end up on the other side of the building. Or drive out of the school parking lot and pull immediately onto a street 45 minutes away. Really messes with your head.

1. The Sixth Sense 2. The Client 3. ET 4. Superman The Movie 5. The Sound of Music
I don't know if that's the right order and I'm sure there are a couple of others that I might like better than the las two, but that's all I can think of for now. It changes a lot anyway.
I also really enjoyed The Forgotten.

I'm not a big movie person (have never seen any of The Godfather movies nor any of the Raiders of the Lost Arks, among others) so it's hard to pick but here it goes:
1. The Sound of Music -- Have seen it every year since I was about 3 and is the only DVD I own aside from all of Ron's movies 2. The Miracle Worker (original, B&W version) 3. Wait Until Dark 4. Mystery, Alaska -- there had to be a hockey movie somewhere on my list.
5. At First Sight or The Saint -- Tie. Kilmer's in both. 6. I'd like to add Delivered to the list. Even though it wasn't a major film, I'm fascinated by Ron's creepiness in that movie.
#s 2 and 3 I watched only I happened to be around when my father was watching them (he's a classic film buff). They blew me away -- great acting. Wait Until Dark freaked me out.
