Happy to report for my own selfish reasons... We dodged a major bullet as they were predicting that this one was going to be huge for Colorado. The storm hit just east of us which I think is what you all are getting now. I'm with Housemouse....enough of it for some of us and California sounds really nice... As for those of you who are enjoying it... Here's hoping you at least get a snow day out of it...

Snowed this past weekend.
Sunny today. High 30's.
Hitting high 50's by Thurs.
How about that Tornado in Ark? National Weather thinks it was high winds not a tornado.
With all the high tech equipment and tracking and Dopler Radar, you'd think they could be more precise.
Later, Carl

The blizzard I told you we had on Thursday was crazy, we were practically shut down for three days. Thursday it snowed all day with strong winds creating snowdrifts everywhere causing roads to close. Friday we had freezing rain so in addition to the snowdrifts it was very slick and most roads were closed. I did manage to go to the stables to take care of my horse, it's a four mile ride on my bicycle - I know, I am crazy, riding a bike on slippery roads... But I had to go see him.... Saturday we had rain and sleet and freezing rain which of course made everything worse. A major bridge, which is the main connection between Eastern and Western Denmark was closed for twelve ours due to big chunks of ice falling off the bridge and onto the driveway. Three sports-arenas had their roof collapse because of the snow and the ice, as did the roof of a department store, a cattle shed and a stable full of pigs. Luckily nobody got hurt. And Sunday it was all over, most of the snow had melted and we had rain - again.... Take care and keep smiling - and would someone please build a snowman for me??? - Chris

The sleet and freezing rain blew through here Saturday and then turned slushy. Sunday, the roads were clear so I had no reason to stay inside! It has turned colder and they are talking snow. This has certainly been some winter!

It's beautiful, Mouse! I'm jealous. Ours is all melted and snushy and dirty already. It rarely lasts more than a couple of days around here. I'm sorry you're not all that pleased with all the white stuff, but you won't have to put up with it for much longer.

Our backyard: Our frontyard: I can only think of one word to describe this: UGH!! We've got that here too, right now and for the past couple of days. Sure, it's pretty, but shoveling and driving isn't all that fun! And my bus has been late making me late for work the last couple of days.

If we had that kind of snow around here, the government would be shut down for a week! We're really wimpy about snow. It's kind of like how Los Angeles is about rain. Here, if it rains 40 inches in a year, it's no big deal, but if that happens in LA (they average about 11 inches a year), it's the top story on the news for weeks. So...you guys get lots of snow and it's no big deal, but DC gets snow and all hell breaks loose. I find it amusing. It's not that we don't get snow, it's just that we never get all that much so it always feels like a novelty. At least that's how it seems to me, and this is my third winter. I'm ready for spring, though. Spring and fall are stunning here. Cherry blossom time!
