Snow falling on the ground Snow accumulating on the ground Snow expected all weekend! My friend's BBQ housewarming tonight won't be quite as fun! Sorry but this is just weird. Snow and its nearly June I remember having flurries in May a couple of times. Right now its nearly 90 and waaayyy too hot for me We tend to jump feet first into the good old hot and humid. Hopefully your friends have a covered area for their BBQ so you can still have your party!

The heat and humidity have been horrible and what to they bring--the chance of pop-up storms. We have had one every day for the last week but today's was the worst! The sky was getting dark etc. around 6PM and then it cut loose. I haven't had a chance to check the rain guage, that is if its still there! In the middle of it the emergency management siren went off and since I was still at work I stuck my head out the door to see what was going on. They said there was a tornado warning for the NE part of the county! I finally was able to get the local news on the computer and found out a tornado had been seen west of town, still several miles to the NW but still west of town! There was a meeting going on so I warned the other gals and some chose to go the the buildings sub-basement and the rest of us stayed on the lower level. No tornado thank heavens but lots of rain, wind and lightning They are saying this weather could continue clear until next week !

Wow, scary stuff! I hate afternoon thunderstorms. They always hit when I leave the bus for my walk home.

The rain gauge said about 2 inches from yesterday's storm. We just had another one--not as bad as that one. Everyone is jumpy and kept looking out the windows and checking the weather stations. This is the 6th day of severe weather we've had and its getting a little old

Oh my gosh is it hot!!! We are having a heat warning which is virtually unheard of. Not a heat advisory, a heat warning. At abot 8AM it was 86 degrees! The heat index was going to be around 115 degrees with the dew point in the 70s. Not good. We had about the same thing last Wednesday. The air is so heavy you can hardly breathe. And to top it all off the power went off for about an hour and a half. Guess the system finally got overloaded! The good side, by Sunday it might *only* be 88!

You're not the only one who thinks the weather is extreme. According to this article, extreme weather events have been occurring worldwide this summer. Meanwhile, in San Diego, our cool and cloudy July was the coolest in 77 years. Go figure.

You sure can't predict the weather though they certainly try! Today, another scorcher. Heat index around 120, dew point in the high 70s. There is actually a breeze but it doesn't stand a chance. This weekend they are promising it will *only* be 88!

Snow, lots of snow, and it is staying (not melting). First snow of the season! Whaaaa! It has been cooler here. Last weekend it was blistering--almost 90. We have gone 100+ days without appreciable rain and several counties are under strict burn orders. There have been field fires from overheating equipment etc. but no one has been hurt and other than lost crops and equipment, no houses or outbuildings have been lost.

Believe it or not, it was 100 degrees (F) in San Diego yesterday. That's right, 100 degrees on November 4th! I don't care if it's "a dry heat," that's HOT. It's a good thing we had some unexpected and unusual rain in October. Otherwise, the fire danger would have been extreme.

I think it has plain forgotten how to rain here! This week must be Indian Summer, in the 70's today. By this weekend maybe, maybe some rain and then back down to the 50's. Been busy getting stuff settled for the winter, covering garden beds, pulling up plants, raking leaves (still have a burn ban in effect). The year is flying fast!

Wow! What a claim to fame! Not that we are that cold here but we did have an over thirty degree drop in temperature since yesterday. Last night it was nearly 70. A cold front moved through and we actually had rain (what is that wet stuff, I seem to vaguely remember it) plus strong winds. This morning a balmy 35!

A glorious sultry 30C in Sydney today. Yesterday 27 but with a slight sea breeze. Too good.
