You may have heard the saying, "Be careful what you ask for, because you may get it." The final chapter of "Day of Reckoning" has been posted in the Fan Fiction section here and at fanfiction.net: Chapter Seven.Final chapter? Final chapter?!Oh, wait... you posted this on the morning of April Fools day (at it was the morning of 1 April here). Okay, mlm, you got me with that one. So when will we get the last part? Oh. No April Fool? Waaahhhhh! Say it ain't so! Seriously, I've enjoyed the ride, mlm. Although I think the story did end rather abruptly, there are some wonderful details in this last chapter, as there have been in the whole story. (I'm gonna have to 'karma' you! ). McAllister is angry with Jim because Jim killed his brother. That seems very 'real' to me. And Jim's reaction to McAllister... Yep. That seems in character, too. Mind you... I think maybe Fisk should think about sending Jim on some anger management courses. Krissie

To quote Dunbar "People amaze me" - McAllister was responsible of several people getting shot and yet he resents Jim of killing his brother, who by the way was randomly killing everyone nearby But McAllister lunching at Jim like that gave him the opportunity to abuse him a little, he so deserved it!!!! Love Jim's last comment “Yeah, I’m fine – now.” Take care and keep smiling (and writing fan-fic ) - Chris

I loved this whole story. But I feel like maybe it is not all finished. I feel like there could be a sequel to this.(hint...hint...mlm) McAllister's trial... the whole Terry thing being brought back up.... somehow I don't feel like Jim is completely over everything. Maybe I just want more from you Martha because you write sooo well. I loved how he jabbed McAllister's eyes! That was pretty cool.

FYI: I did a little edit to the closing bit, to make it clear that Jim didn't do any lasting damage, in case anyone was wondering about that. Thanks for your comments! I expected the ending might be a little "controversial," but it's the ending I planned all along. I like leaving something to the readers' imaginations.

It's nice to have it all wrapped up, but this is a little reminiscent of Doubt. Is he or isn't he? It will make for some good discussion I'm sure, and that's the mark of a good story for me.

It was totally understandable what Jim did. Hey, the guy did jump him and he was only defending himself, right? And he was probably restraining himself some because he could really have done some damage there!
Seeing Karen rushing in, not quite "all together" as usual. You mean she actually has a life outside the squad? Of course, eagle-eyed Marty had to comment on it!
Like Lindy, I feel there is something more lurking out there (a sequel perhaps?) but great job, as usual!

Oh Mlm, I just got back from 4 days of heaven and what a treat! And the ending is superb! Fabulous! SOOOOO in character for Jimmy D and I loved it. The image of McAllister attacking Jim came totally from left field for me and is just so right! Of course he would be mad about his brother! I hadn't even thought of that before. For me the ending is crisp and tight. Leaves me with my heart beat still elevated and my imagination flying around the room enjoying itself. Thank you , thank you , thank you, Love A
