Sorry Krissie, I've been out of action since Friday with food poisoning.  It was awful and I thought I was headed for emergency it hurt so much. As soon as I can I will get the rest up. Love A Poor you, having food poisoning  I hope you'll feel better soon. Who knew Hank had so many skills??? I'm sorry to see this one end, but I do like the ending. The perp gets what he deserves, Jim is as tough as he needs to be to get the mom to confess, and the nice scene with Jim and Julie. Kind of makes you think they'll be ok and Jim will stay involved for a while at least. Love the silent command. Everyone should have a dog that can do that. |

This made me wonder, how about 'Hank Steps Up'? Just a thought. So... That's the end, huh? First thing to say, I agree with bjobsessed; I liked the ending. I'm impressed that you managed to pull off such an optimistic tone after such a gloomy story. I liked the scene between Jim and Julie. Ah... to see him with kids... <soppy sigh>. And, yes, the silent command was pretty darn good, too. I was surprised, though, to see this wrapped up quite so fast. That's not to say that there was anything obviously left hanging, or wrong with that. Just that I was surprised. And wistful, because I could have wallowed in this fic for a lot, lot longer!  WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD for anyone who hasn't read this fic yet. (If you haven't, why not? And what are you doing in this thread, anyway?)!!! How did the mum cope, past her release from that black room? Why was she locked in there? That is not really dealt with, and I think perhaps it could have been. Also, what about the other families, elsewhere, that you hinted at? Was this woman really the perp's wife? Or was he a bigamist? This inquiring mind wants to know. I will have to go back and read the last couple of parts through again, more carefully. (Actually, I will go and read through the whole fic again, just for the sheer pleasure of it.) I was surprised, though, that the poor, wee baby died but the mother survived. For some reason, I was expecting a different outcome. Not sure why. Ash, you know that I liked this story. I've told you that already.  And... I'm looking forward to more from you. In short: thanks. And that was lovely. Krissie |

Remember this?? maybe TBC *You think I should? I am so glad you did and finished this story, you know I loved it, right ?? Another great fic, A. I love your depiction of Julie, she seems like such a cutey and to still be so loving after all she has been through. You certainly have a knack for writing child characters. And Jim's re pore--hiding cookies in his desk drawer! The big softy! Krissie pointed out the other families alluded to in the story. Is there another story lurking out there? Hint, hint And we all know that Hank is a real bona fide hero! He just proved it to everyone else. PS. Sorry to hear about your nasty sick spell. Please take care of yourself. |

I have a bit of an epilogue that I wasn't going to post but I will dig it out and see if I can make sure some of these questions are answered. I know what it feels like to be hungry for more fic and wouldn't want to do that to anybody. Hey, I'm thinking of running an interactive fic thingy. I would post the first chapter and then ask specific questions about what you wanted to have happen and based on the feedback I would then write the next chapter. Anyone interested? I have one ready to go... |
