Hmmmm . . . let's see. I just assumed that Terry, as an ex-cop who wanted to keep connected to the NYPD, had a scanner in his truck and showed up as the other cops did -- to lend support or give blood -- and didn't know it was Jim who'd been shot until he got there.

Sheesh, you guys notice everything.

As for what Marty did or didn't do . . . watch this space.

ie : Terry. Imagine how mortified he must have been to have found out it was Jim who had been wounded? Again. How to leave gracefully? Or was he lurking, hoping to find out Jim's condition before disappearing while hoping no one noticed him?

I'm late to the game, but let me add my "Wow!" to the mix. I was blessed with a sneak peek at the very beginning of this one and it blew me away (as it did all of you) and I'm thrilled that Mags has posted it already. I'm loving it. It's full of drama and every single character mentioned is in a situation that has many possibilities and I hope they are all explored, even if poor Mags (who likes to write short and snappy fics) has to go on for twenty or so chapters in order to fulfill all the promise she has so early established here.

I know you have other things that need writing, Mags, but any time you are able to post another chapter over here, you know you'll be making a lot of people very happy.

I know that I'm late in adding my half pence worth to this thread, but I've been suffering from three things: my broadband failed, then I've been on holiday (okay, so that's not really suffering), and since I've been back home... Argh. The work really piled up while I was gone!

Anyway... that's a very long-winded way of working my way round to say that I eventually got to read Again and, even more eventually, I'm putting fingers to keyboard to say how much I loved this!

I've also wondered how Christie would react if something else happened to Jim, so I'm really happy to see someone exploring that theme. Mind you, at the moment, I'm more curious to see where you go with the Marty issue. And... of course... how is Jim going to deal with this?

Anyway... thanks for feeding my fanfic obsession!

P.S. Re Terry: I blinked at the fact that he was at the hospital, too, but having complete faith in Maggie, I assumed that this was going to be addressed at some point. My guess was that he had -- against all expectations -- managed to stay on the force in some capacity or other.

As a little thank-you for all your kind words, I've just posted Chapter Two of Again. It's a short chapter, but, as Shmeep pointed out, I do like to write fic that's "short and snappy."
