Kathy, once again your pics are so good. I especially love the one with the girls going into the surf. Believe it or not, the first and last time I went over to Block Island I think I was nine, and it is right here in RI! Well 12 miles off the coast. But you do know Kathy what Rhode Islanders are like when it comes to leaving town! But I am leaving in two weeks to meet a bunch of friends in NYC once again. Yay! Kathy, Lindy, and Anita! Anyone else coming? We are going to do that bus trip past B/J sites. (with Sonny driving the bus.) hahahaha. Yes, I do know what Rhode Islanders are like when it comes to leaving town...but you are not the typical native. Just look at how many times you get on a bus for NY! I am looking forward to seeing you, Lindy and Anita soon...and anyone else who wants to take that bus trip!!

(Things that can sit in a small travel bag for two weeks without being any worse for wear.)

I am sooo ready for this. I'm trying to figure out how we can watch my pics of England too. (If you guys want). I bought a photo frame--7"--so that might work. I would only bring the player part and not the frame. It's really bulky. I have a cord to hook it up to the tv too if we can do that.

Love em Kathy - is the name of the beach State Beach?? Looks like little girls have the same fashion thing going all over the English-speaking world at the mo, could be our girl's bikini! Mind you it all made the summer-envy kick in. I went to Coogee on the weekend to get a bit of spray on my face and the water was FREEEEEZING.
Oh you lucky lucky things re meeting up!!! How fun!

M We seem to live in a small world now as far as fashion goes! I wonder what your definition of freezing is as far as the spray, as the coastal New England waters are quite cool even in the summer. I tried to quickly find the water temp for Block Island State Beach and was unable to do so. I found an average temp for Newport (near Mary) of 68 F in July. That's 20 C. I would imagine your summer water temperatures are higher than that! The State Beach in my picture is just called Block Island State Beach. Rhode Island being "The Ocean State" has about 8 State Beaches, I believe. And yes...we are extremely lucky to be able to meet up soon! It will be lots of fun, I am sure!

Re the fashion I suppose they are afficionados of the deeply irritating Hannah Montana and her even more irritating father?
So does a State Beach mean looked after by the State and protected?
Actually here in Sydney the water temp was about 20C for most of last summer which was muuuuch too cool for me, very annoying as I am famous water temperature wuss. 23 or so is my ideal - I am very painful in ths regard and whinge if it's too hot to enjoy as it can be further up the coast. Even cooler the further south you go, we were at Manyana down South Coast end January, boiling hot days (36, 37C) and cold water. That was good.
I live for the beach as you can tell so all very interesting. My spray definition is much looser than my immerse body in water definition.

Re the fashion I suppose they are afficionados of the deeply irritating Hannah Montana and her even more irritating father? Absolutely! So the irritating twosome are a world-wide phenom!!! Yes. I don't know why I was surprised that your water is not warmer! I admit I am ignorant of Australia's geography, but some of your continent must be as far away from the Equator as we are in the Northeastern US, so your water temps must be similar to ours. I agree about the hot days/cold water!

Yes Kathy some of our continent is way far from the Equator and closer to Antartica which would explain the biting winds in Melbourne which I have cause to experience with more than my fair share of frequency, but not my bit of it which is supposed to be warm. Darn those irritating eddys, the newly-identified bane of my ex-surfie chick life. M
