I am enjoying a nice leisurely start to another weekend, was looking back through the Fan Fiction thread, and realized that there was another one I hadn't taken the opportunity to read - not sure why exactly, except I think that its timing was everything!
But, now that I have indulged myself, and all at one sitting I might add! What a treat - MLM, you have written a well-rounded, complex fic and have done a superb job fleshing out a crime scene, throwing in a definite curve ball or two, brilliantly establishing a less than prolific background for some very questionable characters, meshed it all together, and given the reader a really great ride. So well done, as always, and so enjoyable!
This particular line really struck me - both for its complexity and its ad infinitum circle: "He felt like a caged bear back then, his blindness an invisible cage from which there was no escape. How could he escape from something he couldn’t see, when not seeing was the cage?"
As with the long wait for Maggie's conclusion to One Eyed Man, I am also anxiously waiting to see what comes next for the 8th - especially from you! You absolutely know how to write a really good crime story!
