It's so nice to see Jimmy feeling comfortable with Marty. And I loved how he figured out that Marty was probably good looking from his flirty mother-in-law. I can't wait to read more. Thanks Shmeep.

I've been looking forward to this part of the story, and it definitely lived up to my expectations. I particularly enjoyed Jim's ruminations about the differences in his relationships with people who knew him when he was sighted, and those who only know him as a blind man. Very insightful.

Oh, Shmeep, one thing we can always count on you for is an intriguing ,well-written chapter with a good twist! Suffice it to say that this latest installment doesn't disappoint on any level. I so love the easy feeling that continues through this story and the naturalness of the comaraderie you have created with the "boys".
What else is there to say? Absolutely nothing I can think of - it is certainly right up there with what has come before it!

I'm so glad you wrote more of the guys' get-together. The way you have written Jim, Marty and Tom is totally in character. This has to be my favorite chapter -- until the next one.

Shmeep, another great chapter. I particularly liked the part about Tom finding out that Jim was just putting him on about not knowing he was black. I look forward to finding out how the room painting goes with Marty and Jim's sister. Should be fun! Thanks!

Whew! I just read all 12 chapters. I think it's awesome. Loved to see Jim, Tom, and Marty having a guys day out. Nice to see that Marty is comfortable enough to ask Jim some questions even if they are awkward and that Jim's comfortable enough to answer them.
Can't wait for the room painting. Sure it will be fun.

Great day with the guys! Loved Marty's comment on the bathroom--geez!!! Both Tom and Marty seemed cool with Jim, it was Jim obsessing about making an idiot of himself in front of them. Decorating the babies room should be a blast--Jim won't know who to keep track of, Marty, Shannon or the paint!!!

I'm so thrilled that others are starting to post their fanfic over here! Now Expectations won't be so lonely!
I'm writing in the Expectations thread right now because I just realized that I have been remiss and I want to rectify that immediately. I never publicly thanked Kenina for all the help she has given me. First of all, she encouraged me to write Blind Justice fanfic when I never had any intention of doing anything like that. Now I don't post anything until Kenina has had a chance to go over it--and she does. If I make a mistake, she finds it. If I lapse into my own particular manner of speaking (and believe me, I sound nothing like a cop) she oh-so-gently steers me back to some more appropriate word choices. If something in my story isn't working, she'll find it and tell me. I love that! So...this is long overdo, but thank you Kenina!
I also want to thank maggiethecat and longlashes. Mags, for all the great suggestions and for helping me out a few times when I've written myself into a corner and have needed some advice about what to do next. If I have a question about Dunbar decor, I always know where to go. Longlashes, for being so incredibly supportive and lovely.
I also really appreciate everyone who participates on this board. I'm thankful to have contact with such a warm and supportive group of people.

Hope this doesn't throw anyone, but I decided I like the way Kenina put all of Weekend in the Country in one thread so I did the same thing with Expectations. From now on I'll just post new chapters in the one thread.
